Orientation is the first MCJCL event of the school year. All the new Latin students, in addition to the returning Latin students, are asked to come right after school to a party that will introduce the Junior Classical League with a variety of activities. In the past, students have started out with a game of "I have never...", while waiting for the magistrae to bring the pizza. After eating, the MCJCL Officers host a pie-eating contest, followed by an a game of kickball or dodgeball.
